Camps for Kids & Teens
Spend a fantastic week at sewnow! fashion studio learning fashion
and sewing! We offer specialty camps incorporating pro fashion sewing skills, illustration, fun group challenges, and textile design.
With our FashionKit patterns product, all campers can now work at their own pace from a wide variety of patterns and styles that can be customized to their own unique point of view. Now it's easy to join friends with varying sewing skills during the same week of camp. Amazing digital instructions allow each student a personal self paced learning experience supplemented by our professional team of highly qualified instructors.
Back again this year is our sewnow! Pro Shop fabric and supplies room where each camper can browse to select fashionkit patterns, fabric, notions, and guidance as to which next project is perfect for them. As always, each camper enjoys a personal sewing station including a high quality Brother Sewing Machine, professional tools, worktable space, and an environment that promotes friendship, learning, and self expression. Come and join us - we are going to have a blast! All supplies, participation and guest tickets for the fashion show as well as a daily snack are included with your camp registration.
Please register as early as you possibly can to avoid disappointment. Many time slots sell out early, and we are really sad when we aren't able to accommodate designers excited about joining us. Sometimes we are able to shift things around to add a spot in a given camp, so please email or call us if your chosen week is full. We always keep a waitlist and sometimes spots do open up. An added bonus for early registration is that you take advantage of early bird promo pricing!
How do sewnow! camps work?
- Most camps run Monday to Friday in the AM (9-12) or PM (1-4) or Full Day (9-4)
- Student: Staff ratio is 7:1 or less
- Camps are designed for kids and teens 4th Grade and above, except for Junior camps which
are designed for those entering 2nd & 3rd Grades in the fall
- Junior Camps are a fun mix of machine sewing, hand sewing, and textile crafts
- If you discover a camp you would like to attend is full, please let us know - sometimes we can add a spot and we will definitely put you on a waitlist
- All summer camp registrations include camper participation and guest tickets for our fabulous end-of-summer fashion show on Sunday August 20 at 4pm!
What camp should I take?
A. If you are new to machine sewing.
The best camp to take is the FashionKit 101 camp. These camps are perfect for kids and teens who are new to machine sewing. If kids are entering 2nd or 3rd grade in the fall, they should take the Junior 100 class which is perfect for our younger designers.
B. If you have taken sewnow! 101 or equivalent in the past
If you've graduated from a FashionKit 101 program and have solid sewing experience with all the basics, you may register for any FashionKit camp program. For the best possible FashionKit camp experience, we do recommend experience using a serger machine. During FashionKit camp, instructors will guide you towards the best first projects to build on your existing skills.
C. If you have taken sewnow! 201 or equivalent.
If you've graduated from sewnow! 201 (camp or class) or have equivalent experience (i.e. know how to use the serger/overlocker, lay out a pattern on grain, make hems, buttonholes, and waistbands or have taken our 201 Sewing Skills Workshop) then congratulations - you are in fantastic shape to join any FashionKit camp program.
